Once again we had about two weeks of adventure starting in Midway. We spent the week golfing, swimming, hot dog roasting and munching smores in the mountains, playing in actual green grass, and having fun! Will was able to golf most days with the big boys and Siena and I had a turn too. I think my highlight was introducing my mother-in-law and sister-in-law to pedicures. There was a great deal of eating good food, playing games and as always interesting debates (reading while going to the bathroom, helps or hinders the process?). We had a great time!
Then came Lake Powell. It was Jocelyn's first year and she did awesome. She slept well, which can be a challenge. She liked the dry sand, but would not move in the wet stuff. When Jocelyn went on the motor boat to watch Will and Dad she bawled every time anyone fell. She loved all the attention and was quite the busy girl on the house boats. William loves to get thrown off the banana and is getting the hang of the knee board. He's quite brave and likes jumping off the top of the house boat. Siena had to be coaxed into the banana (I get on or Andy, Uncle Wade puts her on, she screams and cries, after two minutes she stops and has a great time, until Dad falls off and then more screaming and crying). Siena has also decided she will not put her feet in the prickly sand, so its a good thing Mom bought water shoes. She also had her fifth birthday and decided having a birthday at Lake Powell isn't so bad. Mid week Andy and I decided we were exhausted from vacation and headed home. Will got a little emotional while saying prayers and blessing all those still at Lake Powell. Not a major melt down this time, but still heart breaking. It sounds like all we did was cry, but really the kids love Lake Powell as much as I did as a kid (and even more now).
